JewBoo: Adventures of a Jewish Yogini
Author: Helen Goldstein
JewBoo: Adventures of a Jewish Yogini, takes readers on the whirlwind autobiographical adventures of Canadian yogini Helen Goldstein who at one time owned the largest yoga studio in Canada. We follow this child of neurotic Holocaust survivor parents from her days as the fashionable “it” girl in Montreal and swinging 1960s London through relationships and a marriage, trailblazing trips to Southeast Asia and India, and life as a bon vivant in Toronto with hilarious vignettes with the city’s gay community, misadventures at the yoga studio, and various ashrams and retreat centers, all (of course) overseen by the blue-skinned Indian deities who throw obstacles in her way from their heavenly perch.
Author Comment
“I cannot recommend Guy Crittenden enough for his editing services and for his generous guidance in the whole book publishing process. He went above and beyond what I expected from an editor. He was able to keep my “unique voice” even though our communication style is vastly different. He had really good suggestions that I would never have thought of. He respects deadlines. He wrote a really compelling book proposal to a literary agent. He added more whimsy to my book. And he was a total pleasure to deal with. He listened and let go of his ego in the process. And his fee is reasonable. What more could you want?”
